Cornwall & Devon - for great holidays

Details of Liskeard

Liskeard, Cornwall

This has long been an historic market town, and is situated at the mouth of the Looe river. There is a good little town museum and the Lux Park Leisure Centre. To the north-west of Liskeard is Bodmin Moor, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A scenic rail link runs to Looe from Liskeard along pertty wooded riverbanks.

Liskeard Station was one of the locations in the 1941 film The Ghost Train an Arthur Askey humour at a haunted station when passengers get stranded.

Twinned with Quimperle, France.
