Cornwall & Devon - for great holidays

Details of Fowey

Fowey, Cornwall

An historic seafaring town and once the home of Daphne du Maurier. A literary centre dedicated to her memory is situated in the town and the annual Daphne du Maurier Festival of Literature and Arts is held in May. The deep water harbour is ideal for visiting yachtsmen and the sailing regatta is held in August each year. There are excellent beaches nearby and great walks. The town has winding narrow streets full of interesting shops and galleries, there is also a small aquarium which is especially fascinating for children. Car ferry to Bodinnick and passenger ferry to Polruan.
