Cornwall & Devon - for great holidays

Details of Carbis Bay

Carbis Bay, Cornwall

The sheltered beach here is privately owned and maintained so tends not to get too overcrowded, but is accessible to the general public. This is a good family beach and dogs are banned from Easter until October. The cliff walk to St Ives is not to be missed and there are spectacular views of the coast all the way to Hayle and Godrevy Lighthouse. The famed author Rosamunde Pilcher was born near here in the small village of Lelant and many of her novels are based around this part of Cornwall. The scenic rail link from Lelant to St Ives stops at Carbis Bay.
