On the eastern side of Trevose Head lies the north facing large crescent shaped beach of Harlyn Bay, very sheltered and protected from the Atlantic winds. Two thirds of a mile of golden sand, pebbles and dunes, with a backdrop of grass topped cliffs. At low tide a good expanse of beach is exposed; access is next to a stream that flows down to the sea from the south east corner of Harlyn village. Bathing here is considered generally safe but at certain times there may be rip currents. There are many fine walks along the coastal path towards Trevose Head which gives superb views towards Pentire Head and Newquay, or to the north east to Mother Ivey’s Bay. Activities on the beach include swimming and surfing.
Facilities: Parking, Toilets, Café, Shop, Lifeguard, Dogs allowed.
