Recognised by many as the antiques centre of the south west, this former Georgian coaching town has been made world famous by its lace making - reputedly being worn by every royal bride and the Speaker of the House Of Commons. Visitors can walk around the twice-weekly street markets or browse the numerous antique shops and antiquarian book shops or visit the farmers market for high quality local produce on the third Thursday of every month.
