In the heart of Churston is the Church of St. Mary The Virgin. Agatha Christie donated a stained glass window to this church in 1957. Immediately next to the church is the Manor House that dates back to 1016 and is now known as the Churston Court Inn. The village of Churston Ferrers gets its name from Hugo de Ferrers who owned the Manor House in 1303.
Churston still has a railway station as part of the Paignton & Dartmouth
Steam Railway. You can take a train from there to either Paignton or
Kingswear. Within close proximity of the station is a viaduct which the
steam train still goes over. It is a 9 arch viaduct constructed by Brunel.
Greenway House is very close by - home to Agatha Christie. The house itself is closed to the public. However, the gardens are open and run by the National Trust.
