Cornwall & Devon - for great holidays

Details of Dartmouth

Dartmouth, Devon

For over 900 years, sailors have set out all over the world from this ancient harbour, including the Pilgrim Fathers on their way to the New World. Today, bistros, restaurants, boutiques and specialist shops line the narrow streets with their long flights of winding steps and intriguing medieval buildings.

The world famous Britannia Royal Naval College, where HRH Queen Elizabeth first met Prince Philip, is now open to visitors during the summer period. Ask for tour times and dates at the Dartmouth Visitor Information Centre. Walk along the coastal path of newly opened Dart Valley Trail, take a river boat cruise to Totnes or a steam train ride to Paignton to view the spectacular surrounding countryside.
