A lovely country town with attractive winding streets and thatched cottages. Visit shops including antiques and local art or try the home brew in one of Hatherleigh's pubs. Visitors can spot seven churches from the Folly at Moor Head. Take a closer look at Hatherleigh church itself which has won prizes for its restoration. The Hatherleigh Festival of Music and the Arts takes place in July, whilst the Hatherleigh Carnival in November is one of the largest processions in the West Country originating from the Gunpowder Plot and features flaming tar barrels.
