This town was the heart of Cornwall’s former tin mining industry and the home of engineer Richard Trevithick, honoured annually in April with the Trevithick Day festival. At nearby Pool you can visit Camborne School of Mines Geological Museum & Art Gallery and the two engine houses of the East Pool and Agar mine are preserved by the National Trust and have working beam engines and a Discovery Centre.
Twinned with Sainte Anne D'Auray, France.
