Tom Bawcocks Eve

Tom Bawcocks eve is celebrated in Mousehole on 23rd Dec (mid winter Solstice). The story of Tom Bawcock is that the village was starving as the weather had been so rough as to deter any fishing. Tom braved the bad weather and brought back a feast of seven different fish to feed the village. Star gazey pie is a feature of this tradition.
