Isobel Cameron lives with her father and cares for him, even though he is not always easy. Her work collegue and friend Henry Payson dreams of a life together. But Isobel refuses, she is afraid to abandon her father. Henry gives up. After the death of her father Isobel inherits and realizes her childhood dream: she moves to Cilmoran by the sea. But her past catches up with her. She meets the attractive doctor Patrick McLeish when suddenly her old love Henry shows up with his girlfriend Harriet.
