Bodmin – market town with a once famous prison (a museum today) at the edge of Bodmin Moor. Stately homes of Lanhydrock and Pencarrow are nearby.
Bodmin and the moors do not play a big part in the novels of Rosamunde Pilcher. Nevertheless the production company chooses to film here once in a while for the great cornish atmosphere.
Pencarrow House was used as location in 1998 to film “Cliffs of Love”. You might recognize the Italian garden. A ramp lead to it as one of the characters of the film was in a wheel chair.
