Helston – old Cornish tinners town with famous flower festival in May. The stately homes of Godolphin House and Bonython Manor are nearby. Located only a few miles from the most southerly harbour in England, Porthleven.
Godolphin House can be seen in “The Empty House” as the Scottish Manor of Kirkton which is seat of the genteel but cheating Anthony Keile.
The garden scenes in “Magic Nights” were filmed in Bonython Manor . The church of Perranuthnoe is where Ivan and Gabriel get married, in "Voices in Summer” . The tropical splendour of Trevarno can be admired in “Above the Clouds”.
The country lanes to Porthleven were used for filming in “The Empty Houser”. Porthleven was also a location in “Blossom of Life” and is the village in “Above the Clouds”, where the “Harbour Inn” can be recognized as wine shop and the “Tombodama” Juwelier-Studio is Suzanne’s Jewellry shop.
At the fresh water lake, Loe at Helston they shot for “A Secret to Tell”. The National Trust fields of Chybarloe offer nice views onto Loe Bar.
