Cornwall & Devon - for great holidays

Moorland Around Cornwall and Devon

Rich in wildlife and steeped in history, a visit to the three moors of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moor will reveal a rugged beauty that contrasts with the coastal landscapes.

Dartmoor

Dartmoor is the setting for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's celebrated Sherlock Holmes story - The Hound of the Baskervilles. Exhibits can be viewed at the Dartmoor National Park High Moorland Visitor Centre at Princetown in the heart of the moor.

Exmoor

The rugged cliffs following Exmoor's northern boundary are the highest in England, with Great Hangman being the highest sheer cliff of 244 metres.

Bodmin Moor

At the Cheesewring on Bodmin Moor is a hidden cave, which is reputed to have been the dwelling of the hermit and mathematician Daniel Gumb in 1735.
